Yes, I am back again! Mom and I just came in from the backyard. We let all the dogs out to run for a while (they are hilarious!), and we started moving things around, cleaning the pens, putting some extra stuff away, etc. We have been neatening up the yard and back deck, and trying to get everything set up. It made me think of when we were having the deck built - they (dad, my brothers, and some friends that were helping) figured out how much they needed of what (wood, nails, etc.) and then ordered it. But then we started searching for Flatbed Trucking Companies to deliver the wood to the house. It took a lot of searching and browsing the internet, but we finally found one that would work (some of the wood was REALLY LONG!). Once all of the wood was delivered they started to build the deck. It was really neat to be able to watch it go from nothing but a pile of wood and nails (and other building materials :) to a really nice looking deck. It looks really nice now. We have some comfy wicker chairs (with cushions!), several wooden rockers, a couple of little tables, two picnic tables, two carpets, a tabletop water fountain, flowerpots/flowers, windchimes, there are ceiling lights and ceiling fans, and then a couple of lights on some of the poles on the deck, etc. We also have a whole section set up for grilling (the grill, there are cupboards and area for grilling utensils, etc.). Then we have a little garden (carrots, turnips, onions, lettuce, etc.) area beside the deck (okay, so there WAS a garden area - they crushed it when they built the deck, but we will be fixing it when we plant everything this year).
Anyway... back to our packing for the trip. We are all pretty much packed. Just a couple of purses, electronics, pillows, the cooler, and a couple of things like that that we will be bringing out in the morning. Dad is talking about getting about at about five to five thirty instead of six and leaving earlier so that we would have more time there.
