Well, we are all packed and ready to leave except for a couple of small things (like computers, purses, bibles, the cooler, etc. that we will be bringing out in just a couple of minutes. I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing this morning?!?
Have any of my Agents ever visited http://www.awardsandgiftsrus.com? I was browsing through their website for a little while earlier today, and it really reminds me of when our home church competes in a Bible competition. Our church came away with probably half of the awards! Really! Our church usually won First, Second, and sometimes even Third place in most of the events at the competition, and usually several of the kids placed in the individual competitions. Usually everyone starts learning the memory verses, and practicing the relays MONTHS before the competition. As it gets closer we set up tables in the yard and they actually have to run a certain distance to the table, and then back before the next person can run to the table (just like at competition) to practice the relays. My little sister is really hoping to be able to compete next year with the other church kids. I really enjoy helping out and watching everyone. Last year I helped taking care of some of the younger kids that were not able to participate... I took a couple of the younger ones and walked around with them so that they could see their older siblings participating in the competition. They really enjoyed it and thought that it was so neat that they were allowed to watch. Afterwards we usually all go out to a fast food Italian restaurant (that has EXCELLENT bread sticks and really good italian ice drinks), and fellowship together. Then we all split up in the vehicles (swapping who rides with who, until we have members of three or four different families riding with us), and head home. Tired... but very happy after a long but rewarding day. Has your family or church ever participated in a Bible competition before? How did you do?
