Numbers Alive! Review & Giveaway!

Hello Agents!

How are all of you doing this morning?  We are all doing GREAT!  It has been warming up, so we have been spending a lot of time outdoors cleaning up the back yard spending time together on the deck, etc.

I met The Numbers Lady at ChiTAG, and she gave me a couple of items to review.  First up is the Numbers Alive! Books for Young Travelers - Washington, DC.  This is a really fun and informative book for children.

It includes a sheet of numbers stickers!  Everyone loves stickers :)

The book also has questions that one of the numbers is asking, and then it gives you the answer!

Here is another example...

Here is a little bit about Numbers Alive!... "Mission: To improve global numerical literacy by instilling a joy of numbers through fun and friendly number characters. Team Ten, led by Zero the Hero, accompanies The Numbers Lady and children on innovative, interpersonal, and interactive global education quests. They discover numerical applications and develop concepts of the scientific method. The learning adventure begins now!"NumbersAlive! includes educational toys, books, and out-of-school activities and programming.  We use the arts and real-world adventures to encourage children to observe and speak about numbers in their own environments. This establishes a solid knowledge foundation for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) academic subjects. After more than thirty years of working with and teaching about numbers, Dr. Rebecca Klemm, The Numbers Lady, founded NumbersAlive! as an innovative framework for demystifying numbers and math. Students of all ages join the inquisitive numeric characters – plush toys, puppets, and animated characters – as they explore the relevance of mathematical concepts worldwide.

We believe that no one is too young to start learning about numbers and math – and it should be engaging, interesting, and downright fun! Putting numbers into a real world context and looking at them through the lens of art, history, science and culture can propel math out of academic abstraction and into a vital part of our everyday lives."

I also received a "A World of Numbers" Poster.  This is really neat!  The poster shows you how the numbers in written in different languages.

Look at that!  Isn't that neat!

It also has the numbers (0-9) in Braille on the bottom right corner (which my little sister thought was REALLY neat!).

Numbers Alive! is going to send 1 of my Agents 1 Favorite Plush Number (your choice 0-9!), and 1 Numbers Alive! Books for Young Travelers - Washington, DC!  Make sure you enter below!

I'm a big fan of the number 6. The Count on Sesame Street always said it with such gravitas.

Ah...my favorite number is 13 (For Corinthians 13 and because I don't believe in "lucky or unlucky", just providence. My favorite number under 9 would have to be 5, for the 5 members of our family.

I'm ashamed to admit I've never had a lucky number but if forced to pick one, I suppose right now I'd pick 3. Because I always think about schoolhouse rock and "3 is a magic number". LOL.
