Frenzy Is Great! Review/Giveaway

Hello Agents!

How is everyone?  We are all doing great.  Today was a really nice day and pretty warm, so we worked in the backyard and let the dogs out for a while.  They loved it!  Since it has been getting colder we have been playing games inside as a family each night instead of volleyball in the backyard.  One night (and several times since:) we have played a new game we received from Kevin at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair called ...FRENZY!

Our family plays games almost every night -  we used to stay up until midnight at our Pastor's house playing games with their family.  We have one small bookshelf filled with games, and several shelves on a second bookshelf.  So yes, my family does enjoy having game time together.  :)

First, there are six decks of forty-eight cards each (2-6 players).  Each player takes one deck of cards (Red : Red faced Spider Monkey - Ateles paniscus, Banana Belly : White Bellied Spider Monkey - Ateles belzebuth, Sunshine : Black faced /Peruvian Spider Monkey - Ateles chamek, Cookie : White cheeked Spider Monkey - Ateles marginatus, Peanut : Brown Spider Monkey - Ateles hybridus, and Mitts : the Black handed /Geoffroy's Spider Monkey - Ateles geoffroyi.).

Each player should place five cards with the Spider Monkey face-up in a horizontal row in front of themselves.  Like this...

The object of Frenzy is "Spider Monkeys live in groups called bands, but break into smaller groups called troops during the day to find food including fruit, flowers, nuts, leaves, and sometimes even bugs and tree bark!  Be the first player to build a Spider Monkey troop by getting rid of your cards and yelling FRENZY!!"

To get rid of your cards you start with a tail...

And add numbers (all players can participate in each pile)...

Until you get to the number ten...

Then the first person (any player) to slap a "Head" card down on the stack of cards...

Gets that pile (which you set beside you until the end of the game)!  The first person that gets rid of all os his/her cards yells "FRENZY" and is the winner!  That means that you have played all cards including the 4 "Head" cards - you created a troop of Spider Monkeys!

When we pulled out this game, we knew it was one we would enjoy.  Our family loves the fast, beat somebody else to it type of games.  Our whole family really enjoyed Frenzy, and when we played it with some friends of ours they commented on how fun it was!  Okay,  have been offered a discount for all my Agents.  You have a special price of $14.99 (from $19.95) plus s&h!  you just have to call (630) 487-0270 and mention the coupon code : Family Fun.

One of my Agents is going to receive one Frenzy Game!  Wow - make sure to enter below!

Abundant Harvest Review and Giveaway

Recently I was able to go to the Chicago Toy and Game Fair and one of the games I was able to pick up to review was Abundant Harvest. A game that as a Christian I thought would be very fun to play as it is a game that is based upon a Biblical thought that you reap what you sow. My family normally ha 2-3 game nights a week where we sit down and just have fun playing board games only. Last week we decided to try out Abundant Harvest. And although the game has a good idea and concept to my dismay we were not able to play it. My mom and dad started going through some of the scenario cards and thought that it went into to much detail and had some things that did not need to be in there. Now we are a conservative Christian family and have had most talks about things like drugs, alcohol, etc. and this game is mainly dealing with issues like these, so we did not care for it. Although this would be a great game for a lost family or a family that is saved but is not exactly spiritual. The owner of the game told me that the main reason they made the game is because nowadays kids don't get talks about these subjects from their parents but rather from their peers. Not a good idea especially if they are lost or worldy peers. So I understand the idea behind the game and am supportive of it. I just think they could have done it in a not so explicit way.
Game Play- There are 2-8 players age 14-adult (there is a kids one that does not deal with the same issues but rather ones that young kids have to deal with). The goal of the game is obviously to get around the board. But you must answer and discuss subjects along the way. Subjects like "You were pulled over for speeding on the interstate. The Police Officer said that you were going 78MPH in a 55 MPH zone. You know you had your cruise control set on 60 MPH and feel you are being wrongfully accused." What do you do? The person to whom the question is asked then gives his reply. After which the parents or other players may put in their own idea and discuss how they should respond and react to problems like this one.

One of my readers will get a free Abundant Harvest Game for themselves.
The First person to go to Abundant Harvests Website and contact them letting them know you came from my blog will receive a free game. http://www.harvesttimepartners.com/contact_us.htm
Please comment here right after contacting so I can email the company to be sure you are first.

Say Anything Game by North Star Review and Giveaway

My family usually sits down and plays board games two to three nights a week for a few hours and one of the new games I was able to get at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair this year was
"Say Anything" by North Star Games. This game is totally cool.
Overview of the Game-Say Anything is a light-hearted game about what you and your loved ones think. It gives you the chance to settle questions that have been hotly debated for centuries.

Game Rules-First off you pick someone to draw a card and pick a question like "What would be the coolest thing to have at a mansion?" " Which sport is the most fun to play?" etc. The other players write down an answer and turn their cards in. The speaker then secretly picks his/hers favorite answer, and everybody else tries to figure out which answer was picked!

North Star Games is devoted to putting out game that everyone can enjoy. Yes they have games that are aimed at older audiences (nothing wrong with the game just aimed at adults), but all in all they have games that the whole family can enjoy. They are produced by people that have a passion for fun.

QuadChess Board Game Review and Giveaway

I was recently able to go to The Chicago Toy and Game Fair and one of the companies I ran into was QuadChess. I love chess to begin with but chess with with four players is just AWESOME!!
In QuadChess you have 4 players 2 on each team but eac
h one has an army.“The Queen is strong and the pawn is weak, but when she turns her back, the lesser will overtake. But why turn her back? Because coming is yet another enemy, much more vile and powerful than any before.”
And such is QUADCHESS a challenge for all levels of chess players, complicated by the possibility of a fatal twist in the outcome of the game with every move.
QUADCHESS is played by four players, not all necessarily of the same level of experience in the traditional game of chess. QUADCHESS is the curious combination of two chess players defying the ambition of two other chess players. Two on two is the name of the game: devised in order to turn the basic game of chess into a team effort, with total reliance on one another from partner to partner. Watch one another’s back, for here comes the dual enemy gnashing its teeth.
All in all QuadChess is a top notch company and the game would be a perfect gift for the holidays for anyone whether they like chess or not.
To buy QuadChess at the low price of $29.99 on the Quadchess website.
Feel free to leave a comment on how you like their site, or if you bought one of the games.

QuadChess is going to give one of my readers a copy of QuadChess as a giveaway!!
