"Should we call the Plumber?" Our Kitchen Sink is Leaking!!

Hello,

We have been fixing different things around the house lately. Redesigning the back room, planting flowers in our yard, putting pictures up in our bedrooms, etc. Another thing we were working on is the kitchen. A friend of ours came over to put some new counters in our kitchen sink (which looks really nice!). It was great until the sink started leaking. One of the pipes was not in right and it was leaking. We stuck a bucket under there to catch the water until we could get the parts. That meant we couldn't use it for water for cooking, dishes, etc. We do have a dishwasher but the water comes through the same pipes that were leaking. We were using a rubber bin to do the dishes in because we couldn't use the dishwasher. We were trying to decide whether to try and fix it ourselves or call in a plumber. We made the decision to try and fix it ourselves. Once we received the pieces that we needed (we thought!) my Dad and my brother started working on it and trying to fix it. It took a couple days because they had to swap out some pieces but they finally got it in and we tried running water through the sink. It worked! YAY!! So this time we didn't need to call a plumber in.

Fundex Games sent me their Snoopy Sno-Cone Maker. This is really nice. My Dad really likes Snoopy (yes, I said my Dad:). He has books, t-shirts, a Chess Set, etc. My little sister also loves the Peanuts Gang. So when I saw the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine on their site I knew that was what I would be asking for. My little sister was really excited when she heard that they would be sending me this. She could hardly wait for it to get in! Here are some pictures...

We can't wait to try this out with soda! I have heard some people say that it is to hard for their kids to make themselves (turning the handle) but my little sister did it just fine! Kidlandia gave me a gift certificate to get something off their site to review. I chose the Fine Art Print Whimsical USA Map. This is really nice. I knew when I ordered it that it would be nice but I did not know that it would be this nice! Here are some pictures...

I put names of our friends and each family member got to choose where they wanted their name and they got to choose an item to put beside their name.

We had a lot of fun designing this together. It was also fun looking at the map after we received it and seeing who could find the most of our friends on the map. We love our new map and can't wait to get a frame and hang it up on the wall for all of our friends to see. We can also make it a game to see which of our friends can find themselves on the map. Kidlandia is a great company that anyone (even the adults in my family were excited!) would love to have something from.

Patio Furniture

We have been re-doing our patio. We recently repainted it and we have been changing it around a little. We have matching white rockers and a couple of tables, we have been adding some bird feeders out there to attract them, etc. Sometimes when we take trips though the stuff gets all dirty. That's why I have been looking at some patio furniture covers. We have a fire pit and it gets so dirty! This Deeco Green Vinyl Rain Covers for Square Fire Pits up to 34" with Elastic Bottom would be great for it.



Do you have a potting bench? I think they are so neat. It would look so pretty back by our bushes in our backyard. I found some really neat ones. This one is called a Rustic Natural Cedar Co. Garden Planter Bench.






We LOVE finding discount patio furniture. One thing we have always enjoyed is a porch swing. My Mom and Dad love sitting there on a swing together. I found one that I really like. It is called the International Caravan Mandalay Iron 4-ft Porch Swing.


Isn't it pretty?!? That is one thing that I would love to have one day. Have you found any good deals on patio furniture lately?

My Mom does not drink coffee but she drinks tea alot! She LOVES sweet tea and gets up and makes some almost every morning. I gave this to my Mom for Mother's Day and she gets alot of use out of this.

The last thing I got was a T-shirt that said I'm Not the Boss I Just Know What You Should Be Doing.


I am saving this for my older brother for his birthday. He likes telling people what to do and he likes being in charge so I thought it would be funny to give it to him. My parents think its great! Tee Wit has gifts for anyone!

Office Chairs And Stools

My Mom has been having some back problems. Her back was hurting her sooo bad! It got so bad she couldn't even walk! We finally got all that taken care of and it is doing a lot better but still hurts if she does anything that aggravates it like bending over, when she goes to sit down if the chair is to low it starts hurting, etc. We have been looking around at different chairs. This company we found has some great looking office chairs! This one chair I found my one sister would really like. She likes anything red! It is called the ItalModern Tobago Office Chair in Red. Here is a picture...

We have also been looking at ergonomic chairs. We think they would help my Mom's back. This one would help my Mom's back but she would also like it because it has a Cherry Finish Wood Base. She loves Cherry Wood. This one is called the Office Star Desk Office Chair with Cherry Finish Wood Base and Padded Arms.



They also have ergonomic stools that help keep your spine in line and gives you back support. This one is called the Boss Office Products Black Fabric Ergonomic Kneeling Stool.

She really likes this shirt. She wears it with a Denim skirt, her Cowgirl Hat, Belt, Boots, etc. The only problem is the sizes run a little small so she won't be able to wear it for to long. She will be able to pass it unto a friend when it doesn't fit her anymore though.

These are really comfortable. The most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! And there is great cushioning. Every step you make you can feel it! These are really wonderful shoes. My sister (who wears about the same size shoe as me) tried them on she she was amazed at how comfortable they felt! And they look great! I LOVE my new shoes!

What type of Headboard do you like?

I have a question. My Mom and Dad recently bought a new Headboard and it looks really nice. What type of Headboard do you have? Is there a certain one you like better than the others? I found a couple of really nice headboards. One of them that my older sisters would enjoy is the Fashion Bed Group Richmond Mahogany Wood Headboard.


My sisters are using bunkbeds and I know that they would love to upgrade to single beds. They also like Mahogany Wood and they prefer wood headboards. This one looks really nice!

What about a bed bookcase? Do you have one of those? My brothers would like having the Prepac Slant-Back Espresso Tall Queen/Double Bookcase Headboard.

One of my two brothers collects two things. The first one is Horses. He likes them and collects anything he can. Horse Books, figures, pictures, etc. The other one he has is Books (okay, maybe he just likes reading them:). He has more books than anybody else in our family and he reads ALOT! My other brother likes Airplanes/Helicopters, etc. so he collects alot of those. He actually wants to be a pilot one day. One of these would be perfect for them. It would give them extra space for their stuff.

Another question. What about Metal Headboards? I like the Hillsdale Burton Way Metal Headboard in Black Powder Coat Finish.


Doesn't this look nice?!? I like it! I think it is pretty. I like the wood borders and the metal grills featuring a lovely scrolled design.
