Do you ever get tired of tripping over your kids toys, stepping on
one of their Lego's Ouch! Or perhaps having to constantly go in and
clean up their bedroom after they have been playing. Well here are some
tips to help you keep the room clean.
#1. The first
thing I would do is go go through a child's toys and weed through
his/hers toys and check if they really use them or if they just sit
around and clutter your home up and collect dust. If the toys are not
being used I would suggest selling them or donating them to someone who
has children who will use them.
#2. After that I would
start putting things in order of what they are. Hot Wheels in a
section, dolls in a section, etc. And I would put them in a certain area
generally using bins and put them all in, and then explain to your
child where the toys are to go and in what bins. I would then mark on each bin what goes in each one.
#3. Next
I would make sure that when any new toys come into the house I go
through the old toys and see if anything can be gotten rid of.
#4. I would also make the children start picking up the toys after
themselves and explain to them that it helps mommy and daddy very much.
Children love it when you make them feel important.
#5.
My next move would be to have a trash can in the room and tell the kids
to throw away their trash, from any snacks they have, wrappers or packaging to new things
they get etc.
#6. I would also put some shelves up
around the room at child level and allow them to put some of their toys
on display, but still be allowed to use them so long as they out them
back when thy are done. Kids love to show their toys off, especially if a
friend comes over.
#7. Soon after they start reading I would want to buy a bookshelf and put all their books, coloring books etc. on the shelf and organize them by size, and then perhaps have a small bin by the side for your kids to put books in when they are done reading, and then I would go in and put the books away each night.
#8. I would also allow the children to hang a few of their pictures they have drawn or colored up on the wall, or perhaps put some twine from side to side and hang them up there.
#9. If a toy came in a bin like Lego's and can stay in the bin and be ready for travel or just sit nicely in a corner I would stack them all up if possible and set them nice and neatly in a corner beside the bins containing the rest of their toys.
#10. My last move would be to put up a laminated list of things for them to do before they leave the room on the wall, high enough they can't take it down, but low enough that they can still see and read it.
I would still go in each night after they have left and just make sure everything is cleaned up, but usually with a few good bins and some children that help, you're room can generally be pretty clean every night.

Plumbing Repair
Hello!
It is a really nice day today. Yesterday was really rainy so we didn't get to play our daily Volley Ball! I have a new subject for us all to investigate! It is...
We are having more plumbing problems. It's not our Sink this time it's our Bathtub! It's not draining properly. Probably because my little sister bathes almost every day for about an hour (Just Kidding!:). Just a couple of days ago after my sister bathed (I told you it was her!:) she pulled the plug but the water wouldn't drain! We let it sit for a while hoping it would go down, but it didn't. Whenever anybody showers it fills up and won't drain until my brother puts something down it and then it starts slowly draining. It is really irritating when you are showering and the tub starts filling up with soapy water. Or when we are trying to get showers done and you have to wait for half an hour between each shower. It is probably because there are 5 girls in the family all with long hair. Talk about drain problems! Right now they are trying to fix it, but if not I guess we should call in a plumber.

Shopping for the House
I love to go shopping for items in the house. It is interesting to see all the things you can buy. A refrigerator freezer combo is top on my list for the kitchen!! But that is not all I have found:)
My mother likes floral comforter sets in her bedroom. I recently found one that I think she would like. The daisy comforter set is one I think she would really like. It is a pretty yet modern set. And the price is not all that bad! You can shop around for the set you like at the price you want.
If you are looking for a round bench for your backyard or patio, this is a good place to look with great products and low prices.

Sunglass Warehouse Review and Giveaway!
Sunglass Warehouse agreed to send me a pair of sunglasses. Now Sunglass Warehouse isn't just normal sunglasses! They have a polarized sunglasses, sunglasses for kids, aviators, oversized, retro, reading sunglasses, driving sunglasses, clip on sunglasses, etc. Sounds wonderful!

Back in the States

I’ve spent the last four weeks in Uganda, as I am sure most of you know, and am SO glad to be back home. However, as I sat on that forever plane ride, my boss was leaving me a voicemail about a potential move across the country. Wouldn’t get that message for three days. Well, three days have passed and here I am. Not so potential anymore – looks like this girl is moving! I am so glad I got to squeeze my mission trip in, though, because I won’t be taking a vacationtime anytime soon. Where am I headed? The Lone Star State! Everything’s better in Texas, right? Or is it bigger? Whatever, I’m excited. Scared, but excited. So, I have two weeks to pack it all up, find a new place, research Texas electricity Providers to save some money, and call a few friends for advice on the best sushi restaurant in town. They have sushi there, right? I might need to do a little more research. So, who wants to come visit me first?

Light Affection Review and Giveaway!!
I was spending the night at a friends house and she had this really neat Night Light. It had a picture on it! That she had put on! It was a personalized Night Light. She told me it was from a company called...

The Complete Idiot’s Guides vs. For Dummies Books!!
Hello everybody!
It is time for the showdown. It seems that there is a "guidebook" for every interest, hobby and field of learning. The 2 biggest, of course, are The Complete Idiot's Guide and For Dummies series. So, I decided to investigate a book from each of these series on the same subject, and settle once and for all which one was best! (For me at least :) I chose to read the books on Music Theory. Here are the two books I received; The Music Theory Complete Idiot's Guide and the Music Theory For Dummies book.
My sister is really interested in music so I gave these to her to read. She really enjoyed them both but she said the Idiot's Guide was her favorite. Here is what she had to say about it.

Thanks M! So glad to be guest posting here today! I have read books from both of these series before on Piano, HTML and various other topics. However, I have noticed a trend that was verified as I perused each of these Music Theory books for the purpose of picking the best. While each book does give extremely helpful information, I much prefer the style and format of The Complete Idiot's Guide. Much of the information covered is the same, but the CIG books seem to do it in a more interesting way. It will hold your attention better, and actually keeps you wanting to read more. The CIG to Music Theory was very helpful as I am attempting to learn piano, and improve my overall music skills. Sight reading music is easier now, thanks to CIG. This book covers many aspects of music theory, from the basics of pitches, clefs and scales to more advanced chord substitutions, transposing and special notations. There is even a chapter about composing and arranging music which was very interesting, although I don't see myself writing music anytime soon :) I also really enjoyed the included cd that is a huge help in ear training! Although I can play some instruments by ear, this was a great way to improve that skill. Pitches, intervals, scales, rhythm, melody, chords...all of these and more are covered on the cd. So, after completing both the CIG and Dummies books, I am now officially a fan of the Complete Idiot's Guide series!

As I already said these treats are great! We have three dogs and ALL of them LOVE these! I am sure any dog would love to have some of these. If you have a Dog you should check them out.

McDonalds $10.00 Gift Card Giveaway
One of my favorite places to go and grab a bite to eat while I'm on the run is McDonald's, so I figured I'd give one of my fellow detectives a $10.00 gift card to go and grab something themselves.
If I want a nice cold coffee drink McDonald's has the Frappe, if I want a burger McDonald's has the Big Mac. If I wake up in the morning and don't have time to eat before I leave McDonald's has the Bacon Egg and Cheese, or perhaps I'd just like to get a snack McDonald's has Caramel Sundaes.
All in all when I want something quick to eat McDonald's has IT!!
